Cap Fendig, 54 is a life long resident of St. Simons Island, Georgia and is happily married to Catherine Lake of Roslyn, New York. They have 3 children and 3 grandchildren and live in a small 1932 island cottage. Cap graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.A. in business.
He is a 30 year US Coast Guard Master Captain and has owned and operated many marine related businesses. He recently sold St. Simons Transit Company, a land and sea tour and transportation company, to finance his run for President of the United States. He also sold his interests in Jekyll Marina and Golden Isles Yachts, a brokerage firm.
He and is wife are Christians and are non-denominational. They invest their time and finances in various Christian ministries and recovery communities. Catherine is a writer and speaker on assisting persons struggling with addictive behaviors. Cap and Catherine are available for seminars and speaking engagements on successful living strategies.
Cap is serving his 8th year as a Republican County Commissioner for Glynn County. The county has a population of about 75,000 residents and is host to over a million visitors a year. St. Simons is part of a nationally known chain of Georgia islands south of Savannah, Georgia. The 2004 G8 Summit was held at St. Simons and Sea Island, Georgia.
